For some time now we have been revising and improving our portfolio with projects that, in most cases, we had already devised some time ago, but that we have detected that they needed a visual improvement, and others that had already been carried out in a modest way and needed to be shown on a larger scale to make them more accessible and attractive.<\/p>\n

Today we would like to share \u00abPackaged Nature\u00bb<\/strong>, a piece that, as usual in our work, seeks to transform urban and exhibition spaces through community collaboration and reflection on the relationship between the natural and the artificial.<\/p>\n

It is an evolution of our 2018 intervention, Packaged Garden<\/a>, carried out in Valencia, which we have imagined on a larger scale and in suspension, without losing its participatory and reflective character.<\/p>\n

As in Valencia, the installation invites citizens to be an active part of its creation, contributing recycled plastic containers and plants native to their environment. They do not need to be the most eye-catching, but rather those that are part of their everyday landscape and reflect local biodiversity. Weeds are also welcome.<\/p>\n

This collaboration will be articulated through workshops with volunteers to assemble the piece. Our experience has shown us that this process not only enriches the project, but also fosters a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the environment. In addition, we will rely on local plant suppliers and recycling companies, ensuring that the installation is made entirely with local materials and producers.<\/p>\n

The participation of children and young people will be particularly welcome, as their involvement fosters environmental awareness and a bond with their environment. Through these activities, children will be able to understand the importance of recycling and the preservation of nature, while developing their creativity and manual skills. Of course, anyone can join in.<\/p>\n

To give shape to the installation, a truss structure or light supports will be created that will allow the containers to be suspended at different heights, achieving an enveloping and dynamic effect. Each container will be prepared with water and nutrients, ensuring that the plants are kept alive for a period of time before they begin their natural process of decay.<\/p>\n

Lighting will be key: each container will contain a small light inside, either an LED bulb or a stand-alone light source. This detail will highlight the brightness of the water and create a strong contrast with the darkness of the surroundings. In addition, the light will emphasise the texture of the recycled plastic and the fragility of the plants trapped inside, creating the sensation that nature has been contained within the waste.<\/p>\n

This work will not be static, but will evolve over time. The plants will wither, grow or decompose depending on the environmental conditions and the time of exhibition. We want this process to be an essential part of the concept, allowing the public to observe the passage of time on the installation and document its transformation. The elements that fall off naturally – dried leaves, petals, branches, roots – will fall to the ground, leaving a visible trace of the cycle of life in contrast to the permanence of the plastic.<\/p>\n

\u00abPackaged Nature\u00bb<\/strong> will be an open and accessible space for everyone, allowing anyone to walk through the installation freely, interact with it and reflect on the impact of waste on our environment. We want to transform these spaces into living environments, where citizens can stop, contemplate and be part of the experience.<\/p>\n

Moreover, thanks to its versatility, it can be installed in museums, galleries and other exhibition spaces. In these environments, the work will establish a dialogue with the neat and aseptic aesthetics of these spaces, introducing recycled plastic as a disruptive element that generates visual tension. The presence of living plants, which will inevitably deteriorate over time, will remind us of the fragility of the natural versus the durability of plastic, raising a reflection on our environmental footprint. We will always try to ensure that the installation is in freely accessible spaces, allowing anyone to enjoy it.<\/p>\n

While in open spaces this trace of degradation will serve as a testimony of the natural process, in museum environments it will generate a confrontation with the idea of neatness and control that usually characterise these places.<\/p>\n

\u00abPackaged Nature\u00bb<\/strong> is an invitation to rethink our common spaces, be they streets, squares, museums or historic buildings. We firmly believe that, through collaboration and creativity, we can transform pass-through or non-interactive areas into vibrant environments that celebrate life and promote sustainability.<\/p>\n

Hopefully we will soon be able to make it happen.<\/p>\n

Llevamos un tiempo revisando y mejorando nuestro portafolio con proyectos que, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos, ya hab\u00edamos ideado hace tiempo, pero que hemos detectado que necesitaban una mejora visual, y otros que ya hab\u00edan sido llevados a cabo de manera modesta y que necesitaban mostrarse a mayor escala para hacerlos m\u00e1s accesibles y atractivos.<\/p>\n

Hoy queremos compartir \u00abNaturaleza Envasada\u00bb<\/strong>, una pieza que, como es habitual en nuestro trabajo, busca transformar los espacios urbanos y expositivos a trav\u00e9s de la colaboraci\u00f3n comunitaria y la reflexi\u00f3n sobre la relaci\u00f3n entre lo natural y lo artificial.<\/p>\n

Se trata de una evoluci\u00f3n de nuestra intervenci\u00f3n de 2018, \u00abJard\u00edn Envasado\u00bb<\/a>, realizada en Valencia, que hemos imaginado a mayor escala y en suspensi\u00f3n, sin perder su car\u00e1cter participativo y reflexivo.<\/p>\n

Al igual que en Valencia, la instalaci\u00f3n invita a los ciudadanos a ser parte activa de su creaci\u00f3n, aportando envases pl\u00e1sticos reciclados y plantas aut\u00f3ctonas de su entorno. No es necesario que sean las m\u00e1s vistosas, sino aquellas que forman parte de su paisaje cotidiano y reflejan la biodiversidad local. Las malas hierbas tambi\u00e9n son bienvenidas.<\/p>\n

Esta colaboraci\u00f3n se articular\u00e1 a trav\u00e9s de talleres con voluntarios para el ensamblaje de la pieza. Nuestra experiencia nos ha demostrado que este proceso no solo enriquece el proyecto, sino que tambi\u00e9n fomenta un sentido de pertenencia y responsabilidad hacia el entorno. Adem\u00e1s, contaremos con proveedores locales de plantas y empresas de reciclaje, garantizando que la instalaci\u00f3n se realice completamente con materiales y productores de proximidad.<\/p>\n

La participaci\u00f3n de ni\u00f1os y j\u00f3venes ser\u00e1 especialmente bienvenida, ya que su involucramiento fomenta una conciencia ambiental y un v\u00ednculo con su entorno. A trav\u00e9s de estas actividades, los m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os podr\u00e1n comprender la importancia del reciclaje y la preservaci\u00f3n de la naturaleza, al tiempo que desarrollan su creatividad y habilidades manuales. Por supuesto, cualquier persona podr\u00e1 sumarse.<\/p>\n

Para dar forma a la instalaci\u00f3n, se crear\u00e1 una estructura de truss o soportes ligeros que permitir\u00e1n suspender los envases a diferentes alturas, logrando un efecto envolvente y din\u00e1mico. Cada envase se preparar\u00e1 con agua y nutrientes, asegurando que las plantas se mantengan vivas durante un tiempo antes de comenzar su proceso natural de deterioro.<\/p>\n

La iluminaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 clave: cada recipiente contendr\u00e1 una peque\u00f1a luz en su interior, ya sea una bombilla LED o una fuente de luz aut\u00f3noma. Este detalle resaltar\u00e1 el brillo del agua y generar\u00e1 un fuerte contraste con la oscuridad del entorno. Adem\u00e1s, la luz enfatizar\u00e1 la textura del pl\u00e1stico reciclado y la fragilidad de las plantas atrapadas en su interior, creando la sensaci\u00f3n de que la naturaleza ha quedado contenida dentro de los residuos.<\/p>\n

Esta obra no ser\u00e1 est\u00e1tica, sino que evolucionar\u00e1 con el tiempo. Las plantas se marchitar\u00e1n, crecer\u00e1n o se descompondr\u00e1n seg\u00fan las condiciones ambientales y el tiempo de exhibici\u00f3n. Queremos que este proceso sea parte esencial del concepto, permitiendo que el p\u00fablico observe el paso del tiempo sobre la instalaci\u00f3n y documente su transformaci\u00f3n. Los elementos que se desprendan de forma natural \u2014hojas secas, p\u00e9talos, ramas, ra\u00edces\u2014 caer\u00e1n al suelo, dejando un rastro visible del ciclo de la vida en contraste con la permanencia del pl\u00e1stico.<\/p>\n

Naturaleza Envasada ser\u00e1 un espacio abierto y accesible para todos, permitiendo que cualquier persona pueda recorrer la instalaci\u00f3n libremente, interactuar con ella y reflexionar sobre el impacto de los residuos en nuestro entorno. Queremos transformar estos espacios en entornos vivos, donde los ciudadanos puedan detenerse, contemplar y ser parte de la experiencia.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, gracias a su versatilidad, podr\u00e1 instalarse en museos, galer\u00edas y otros espacios expositivos. En estos entornos, la obra establecer\u00e1 un di\u00e1logo con la est\u00e9tica pulcra y as\u00e9ptica de estos espacios, introduciendo el pl\u00e1stico reciclado como un elemento disruptivo que genera tensi\u00f3n visual. La presencia de plantas vivas, que inevitablemente se deteriorar\u00e1n con el tiempo, recordar\u00e1 la fragilidad de lo natural frente a la durabilidad del pl\u00e1stico, planteando una reflexi\u00f3n sobre nuestra huella ambiental. Siempre buscaremos que la instalaci\u00f3n est\u00e9 en espacios de libre acceso, permitiendo que cualquiera pueda disfrutarla.<\/p>\n

Mientras que en espacios abiertos este rastro de degradaci\u00f3n servir\u00e1 como testimonio del proceso natural, en entornos muse\u00edsticos generar\u00e1 una confrontaci\u00f3n con la idea de pulcritud y control que suelen caracterizar estos lugares.<\/p>\n

\u00abNaturaleza Envasada\u00bb <\/strong>es una invitaci\u00f3n a repensar nuestros espacios comunes, ya sean calles, plazas, museos o edificios hist\u00f3ricos. Creemos firmemente que, a trav\u00e9s de la colaboraci\u00f3n y la creatividad, podemos transformar \u00e1reas de paso o poco interactivas en entornos vibrantes que celebren la vida y promuevan la sostenibilidad.<\/p>\n
