\nLa literatura al fin gan\u00f3 la batalla al tr\u00e1fico de New York y durante las horas nocturnas del d\u00eda 17 de febrero, bajo el puente de Brooklyn, la calle Water, del gentrificado barrio de Dumbo, se vio libre de coches.<\/p>\n

Hemos tenido que modificar un poco nuestro proyecto inicial en el que pretend\u00edamos colocar 2.000 libros en una avenida principal de Manhattan porque no nos fue posible encontrar ayuda para gestionar permisos, ni financiaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed que al final, con 800 libros y sus respectivas luces, conseguimos un resultado m\u00e1s que digno y sobre todo hecho como a nosotros m\u00e1s nos gusta, de manera autogestionada y con la ayuda de amigos.<\/p>\n

Hay que decir que nuestra instalaci\u00f3n Literatura versus tr\u00e1fico<\/a> <\/span>fue posible gracias a Jorge Mart\u00edn Vila<\/a> que se encarg\u00f3 de conseguir todo el material, que nos busc\u00f3 localizaci\u00f3n y que nos acogi\u00f3 en su casa durante el montaje, que dur\u00f3 2 d\u00edas.<\/p>\n


\n<\/span>Tampoco queremos olvidar a Alan que nos regal\u00f3 los libros y cedi\u00f3 el espacio para manipularlos, a Kara y Alex que nos ayudaron en todo momento con sus conocimiento de la ciudad y con el transporte y a Craig Dykers<\/a>, que nos dio apoyo moral y f\u00edsico esa noche adem\u00e1s de algo muy importante, bebida para aguantar el fr\u00edo polar a esas horas.<\/p>\n

Las maravillosas fotos son como siempre de Gustavo Sanabria<\/a> al que arrastramos con nosotros al nevado New York.<\/p>\n

Esperamos que esta sea nuestra primera, de muchas otras batallas, ganadas al tr\u00e1fico.<\/p>\n

Literature won the battle again against New York traffic during the early hours on the 17th February under Brooklyn Bridge in Water St. in the gentrified Dumbo district which was free of cars then.<\/span><\/p>\n

He have changed our original project in which we wanted to set up 2,000 books in a main avenue in Manhattan. But it was not possible as we didn\u00b4t find help with the licences and funding. In the end with 800 books and their corresponding lights we achieved a fabulous installation the way we like them to be \u2013 self-managed and aided by friends. <\/span><\/p>\n

We have to say that our installation Literature versus traffic<\/span><\/a> was possible thanks to <\/span>Jorge Mart\u00edn Vila<\/a> who supplied us with all the material, found the right site and who let us stay in his house during the setting up, which lasted two days.<\/span><\/p>\n

We don\u00b4t want to forget either Alan, who got us the books and the place for handling them. Thanks also to Kara and Alex who helped us all the time with their knowledge of the city and the transport system. We also would like to thank <\/span>Craig Dykers<\/a> who gave us all the moral and physical support on that cool night and provided us with drinks for withstanding such freezing weather.<\/span><\/p>\n

We hope this first battle will be one of many which will be won against traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n
