Despedida en Sol y retorno a casa / Farewell to Sol and the return home

El 12 de junio el Movimiento 15M se retiro oficialmente de la Puerta del Sol, cediendo protagonismo a las asambleas de barrio y dejando en su lugar, un punto de información, cual faro que señala el camino y recuerda que siempre se puede volver, si se dan la circunstancias…

Después de un mes en el que tantísimos vecinos de Madrid hemos utilizado, de manera ejemplar, este espacio, convertido verdaderamente en público, no hemos querido faltar a la despedida, aportando lo que tenemos… luces.

Esa noche nos instalamos en una de las salida de Sol, la Calle Correo, que hace esquina con Presidencia del Gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid, el edificio más vigilado de la zona, y allí ocupamos por un rato, la acera, con bolsas de cuadros de esas tan populares entre los que tenemos que que mover gran cantidad de material, con el menor conste económico.

La acción se llamó, De vuelta a los barrios, y para llevarla a cabo, utilizamos 50 bolsas iluminadas, que pasada una hora de su instalación, retiramos del espacio y donamos a los que de madrugada, aún seguían trabajando para que todo volviera a tener un aspecto similar al de siempre, aunque el resplandor de lo allí ocurrido, será imposible de borrar, del recuerdo de los que hemos tenido la suerte de vivirlo.

On the 12th of June the Movement 15M officially retired from Puerta del Sol, handing over leadership to the neighborhood assemblies and leaving in their place, an information point, as a light to show the way and to remind that they can always return, if the circumstances require…

After a month in which we, the numerous citizens of Madrid have used, in an exemplary manner, this space, truly converted into public, we did not want to miss the farewell, contributing what we have… lights.

That night we installed ourselves in one of the exits from Sol, Calle Correo, at the corner of the Presidency of the Government of the Community of Madrid, the most closely guarded building in the area, and there we occupied for a time, the sidewalk, checked bags of the type that are so popular among those of us who have to move large quantities of material, with the lowest cost.

The action was called, Back to the neighborhoods, and to carry it out, we used 50 illuminated bags, a little more than one hour after their installation, we withdrew from the area and left them for the early risers, who are still working to return everything to the way it has always been, even though the magnificence of what happened there, will be impossible to erase, from the memories of those of us who were lucky enough to live it.
